Very Important Price Updates
In the event you’ve wondered why there has been so little inflation the past 3 years, when fuel has gone up so much, it’s because inflation can be dealt with in two ways.
First, inflation can be absorbed; and second, it can be passed on. Most wholesalers and retailers have absorbed the sometimes significant price increases - which in effect prolongs the recession. Because these wholesalers see prosperity in sight, and because they’ve been pushed as far into a corner as they can stand, the time has come to make some tough decisions on price increases.
We’re just like everyone else - We’ve seen our profit (what pays our overhead etc) shrink, shrink, and shrink again. At this point any Corvair vendor that wants to stay in business has some tough decisions to make. You are probably already aware that there are some pretty nasty price increases on some items. In the past year steel has more than doubled, as have other metals. Anything petroleum based (most plastics, rubber) are an obvious target.
In short, our suppliers are NOT going to continue absorbing these increases. Unfortunately, that means we can’t either.
We are updating our prices as fast as we can. Many items will not go up at all but some will significantly increase. We’re concentrating the hardest to keep our online price sheet as current as possible - and that’s the first place you should check. Our printed price sheets will follow. Please understand that just because we have it online doesn’t mean that it’s the current price - But we’ll do our best to keep up. When you order if price is critical ask for current price confirmation.
We still hold to our commitment of staying competitive. Our Pricematch program is still in effect, and our dollar volume discount program will continue unchanged for 2007. We will aggressively work to hold down costs and offer you the best value for your hard earned dollar. Likewise, we will make sure that the reproductions and service you have come to expect from us continue as well.
